The Ari J. Novick Group (AJNG) model of parenting facilitation enables certified parent instructors to use its client workbook, Parenting in the Twenty-First Century, to facilitate classes for groups and individual clients. In the United States, the top two Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are economic hardship and divorce. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics compared different family structures in Family Structure and Children’s Health in the United States: Findings From the National Health Interview Survey , 2001-2007. The graph below shows that the traditional nuclear family provides the best socioeconomic and cognitive-emotional support for neurological and physical-mental health and well-being. No matter what the family household structure, “a lack good parenting skills is a major factor in” [the categorical ACEs of children being exposed to and witnessing] domestic violence; experiencing emotional, physical, and sexual abuse of children; marital conflicts; and family fights (AJ Novick, Group, Inc., 2013).
